This place is a good stall to the right of Hanna World Market. The Staff is friendly and they seem to know where you randomly sit to bring out your food. Great memory. The carnitas ramen is always consistent. Tip: go at noon during the week before the lunch crowd so you don't have to wait as long.

Ramen del Barrio has grown quite popular since winning Tastemakers best restaurant in 2023 so wanted to try it out. They close at 7 which is a little bizarre for a restaurant but makes sense with the location inside the Asian market. Unique Asian Mexican fusion dishes at Ramen del Barrio. I'm more of a traditional ramen fan myself and wanted more spice in the dish. The tortilla strips were a nice addition, giving it a crunch. It left me wanting more and I wanted a better selection of appetizers. Food is good though!

Wow, The food court might be sparse, but the flavors here are anything but! If you're up for a flavorful, hearty meal, Ramen Del Barrio is worth a visit! Located inside Hana Market food court, it'll be the first stall you'll encounter. You order at the very left, and they bring the food to you--sometimes even the chef himself. Bottled waters are a dollar, and it's self clean up, where you bring your trash and plates to a designated corner table. First, let's talk about the carnitas ramen. It was incredibly creamy and luscious, with a richness that was both satisfying and overwhelming. The broth was thick and flavorful, and the carnitas added a delightful Mexican twist. However, the heaviness of the dish caught up with me by the end. As I was about to take my last bite, I started feeling nauseous and sweaty and had to put my spoon down. While delicious, it's definitely a dish to approach with caution if you're sensitive to rich foods. The star of my meal was the tuna tostada. It was an explosion of flavors--umami, salty, tangy, with a hint of sweetness from the eel sauce. Each bite was a perfect blend of tastes and textures. Even better, when I ate the leftovers around two hours later, the tostada was still impressively crisp. The chicken karaage was also good, though added to the heaviness. Despite the richness of the dishes, I'm eager to return to try their dry ramen and tacos for a potentially lighter meal.

Such a hidden gem in the grocery store. Plenty of seating and a very steady line, people know about this place. I tried the original carnitas ramen to get a base feel for the concept and really loved it. I added avocado and tortilla strips. It is the definition of what fusion should be. Anytime I want a soup this will now be on rotation. And the owner/main chef was there working alongside his team. I wish them lots of success!

Concept is unique with a blend of Japanese & Mexican flavors. We got the Carnitas Ramen and it was flavorful and tasty; can get heavy towards the end but I left feeling full and satisfied. Good portioning, fair prices. Looking to try the tacos next time. Wait wasn't long on a Saturday early afternoon, located in Hana Supermarket food court.

When I heard about this spot that combined Mexican + Japanese food I knew I had to try it the next time I was in Austin. If you're planning a stop here I would keep in mind that they close early and according to reviewers they usually run out of certain items before closing. We ended up coming at about 1pm on a Sunday and luckily they had everything in stock. Menudo ramen: 4/5 ramen and egg were both cooked perfectly (seems simple but some spots can't even get these two right), comforting savory broth with hominy and tripe. Hamachi tostada: 3/5 hamachi was good but the random sweetness took over everything else Pork belly yaki taco: 4/5 pork belly was grilled well Chicken kaarage: 4.5/5 the breading was different than usual but was light and crispy Overall, we enjoyed the food and they did a great job combining two different kinds of cuisines. I would definitely come back again when I'm craving something less traditional

I have tacos, but I'm going back for the Ramen. They were so good that I totally forgot to take a picture, but they looked yummy. I had the pork belly taco and the lingua taco. They are worth it. This is my kind of place, casual and great food. I'm definitely going back! Update 4/11/24 And back for more!!! Came in to try the other two tacos I wanted The Pollo asado and the Tako, so yummy and I took pictures this time Yay I still have to get the Ramen!!!

This place has long been hyped up by the city and I finally made my way over to check it out for myself! Walked right in on a Saturday just before they opened at 11am and was the 2nd customer to order. We chose to sit at their bar top and the food comes out as it's ready. Overall, I enjoyed the fusion flavors and idea behind everything, but I wasn't entirely blown away. Especially for the price points and food-court style vibes. I'd give it a 3.5-4/5. QUICK FACTS: - Hours: Wednesday-Sunday, 11am-3pm and 4pm-7pm (closed Mondays and Tuesdays) - Located in Hana World Market to the right as you walk in; food court style seating - Items are first-come, first-served, and they may sell out FOOD RATINGS: - Carnitas tonkotsu ramen (4/5): The #1 ramen on their menu and recommended for first timers. Probably the best thing we ordered. Broth was flavorful but nothing extraordinary. Noodles are good. I wish there were more toppings. Egg is an extra $1 and you can add spice bombs. - Menudo ramen (3/5): Good broth flavor and fun fusion if you enjoy menudo. - Toro (tuna) tostada (4/5): I looove toro. This was pretty good, but pricy (almost the price of 2 tacos). Flavor was good, especially the spice. A little salty. - Pork belly taco (3/5): I'll preface by saying both of the tacos were nothing special to us. Especially for the price ($7 ea.), which was steep. The tortilla and salsas are good. The meats were okay, a little overcooked/chewy. The pork had better flavor with the pineapple balancing it with some sweetness. - Lengua taco (2/5): A little too charred and chewy.
